President's Message

Hi Sprague Community,

It's hard to believe December is here! We hope you've all enjoyed a long Thanksgiving weekend with family and friends. It might be a short week for the kids (reminder - no school tomorrow!) but there's a lot going on. Here are three things to know this week:

  1. Thanks to the generosity of this amazing community, we surpassed our toy drive goal last week and collected more than 170 toys for Kids Backing Kids! It's not too late to contribute - more details below!
  2. iCode is hosting half-day camps tomorrow. Sprague attendees get a special rate on coding and Minecraft camps.
  3. Visit our NEW Sprague PTO SHOP to buy great gifts for the whole family!

Have a great week!

Rose & Wendy

Toy Drive Success (and Extension!)

With help from Sprague students, families, and staff, we collected more than 170 toys for Kids Backing Kids to help deliver holiday gifts to children in our community. Amazing job, Sprague! This is what the holidays are all about.

If you'd like to make a last minute contribution, we'll be in front of the school this Tuesday morning collecting additional gifts before the toys are picked up Wednesday morning.

The Fun Run/Walk was a great success with lots of students and families getting their bodies moving to the sweet sounds of the 1980s with nothing but clear skies.

Creative Arts & Sciences (CAS)

THIS WEEK:

On Wednesday, our second graders will have a visit from Leland Faulkner, a world traveler and performing artist who is a member of the Bad River Band of Chippewa. Mr. Faulkner's presentation, "Walker Between Worlds," is a journey into the world of Native American Stories, including oral history, natural observations, and culture of the First Americans.

On Friday, our second graders from 2NB (and 2LB on Monday, 12/9) will enjoy the musical talents of pianist Asiya Korepanova from non-profit Music for Minds. Ms. Korepanova will not only perform for our students, but will facilitate discussion about the music and the feelings and imagery imagined while listening.

Save The Date: 100 Years of Sprague!

Next Friday, December 13th, parents, friends and alumni are invited to attend our 100th anniversary celebration! The event will feature student research, speeches, videos and more.
