President's Message

Annual Appeal Goal is 75% of All Families!

Our organization spends over $175 per student per year directly on field trips, community building and classroom support. The recommended donation is $150 per student, but any donation amount is greatly appreciated. Ask your employers if they have a gift matching program. Sprague PTO is a tax-exempt 501(c) (3) organization.

Our family participation goal is 75%, and in the spirit of fun, our generous and always enthusiastic principal, Leigh, has offered a special Pajama Day for our students if we hit that goal.

Grade Social Hosts Needed for Grades 3 & 4

Each fall, families host these gatherings to help parents get to know one another better. If you're interested in hosting, email presidents@spragueschoolpto.com.

Bus Safety Week October 21-25

As part of our commitment to promoting bus safety and recognizing the vital role our bus drivers play, we are asking students, staff & families to participate. Let us take a moment to show gratitude to our wonderful bus driver who ensure our students arrive safely to and from school every day. During the week we encourage students to make thank you cards or write a note to express their appreciation.

**Yellow Spirit Day - Wednesday, October 23rd. **
To raise awareness about school bus safety we are having a theme day where students & staff can wear yellow or white, just like our school buses!

CAS
Creative Arts and Sciences (CAS)

On Friday, our kindergarteners had their very first CAS event! Miss L from Sensory Play Lab visited each class outdoors for immersive, tactile and slimy open-ended play. Students created chemical reactions with citric acid and baking soda, creating colorful and foamy solutions. They also went on a frog hunt, digging, sifting and rinsing foam. It was a fun and messy experience that we hope was fun for your students! Ask your kindergartener:

  • What did you notice about the basil seeds? Did the look different once they were wet?
  • How many frogs did you find in the foam?
  • Were you able to make a slime bubble?
  • What was your favorite material (basil seeds, slime, foam, baking soda fizz) to touch and why?

See recent CAS photos or email cas@spragueschoolpto.com to learn more about the program.

2024 Cradles to Crayons Drive: October 6 - November 1
