SPRAGUE PULSE
WEEK OF JUNE 10, 2024

Hi everyone,

This is a bittersweet note to write today... on one hand, we could really use a rest this summer (see list below), but on the other hand, we've had a blast this year!

With that, we'd like to take a moment to thank our incredible PTO Board, which has done a tremendous job in every regard. We are lucky that most of these volunteers will be continuing their commitment next fall, and will really miss those volunteers leaving us for Hunnewell or middle school!

We are so proud of this team that produced:

  • 30 CAS events
  • support and funding for our CARES program
  • impeccable and timely meeting notes
  • weekly Pulse updates (and a few thrown in between each!)
  • a well-oiled treasury process that cuts reimbursement checks faster than you can believe
  • Fall Fest, Ice Skating Party, Aloha Dance Party, popsicle parties
  • the most fun and informative social media presence (Sprague School PTO, hint, hint)
  • the popular and very profitable Book Fair
  • highly-attended and well-promoted Walk-to-Schools
  • Spiritwear for all (including free swag for incoming Kindergarten and transferring Upham students)
  • an absolutely LIT and highly profitable Spring Auction
  • a winning float for Wellesley Wonderful Weekend
  • a beautifully-run METCO program
  • a soon-to-be revealed Yearbook
  • hundreds of dollars in profit through our Fundraising programs
  • representation at SEPAC (Special Education Parent Advisory Council)
  • welcome events for incoming Kindergarten and Upham families
  • a fruitful, veggie-filled, flowery Garden
  • a Green Schools program
  • an incredible Night at Fenway Park
  • leadership for Wellesley's Wait Until 8th program
  • gorgeous and informative signs to promote all of these programs (thanks to a certain "Sign Fairy")
  • Field Day, A-Cat-Emy Awards, and other school event support
  • 100th Anniversary Celebration activities (more to come this Fall)

The list is long, and yet we've likely missed a few other accomplishments!

Please join us in thanking our Board (their names are at the bottom of this and every Pulse), CAS representatives, Room Parents, and thank yourself for volunteering your own time and money to the Sprague PTO.

Our hearts are filled with gratitude for this special community, and we look forward to serving as your Co-Presidents again in the fall.

Best,

Rose & Wendy
